Cerner Canada announced the winners of its Advancing Clinical Excellence (ACE) Awards during Cerner RUG June 2014. This is the second year for the ACE awards.

Congratulations to Calgary Laboratory Services, who won the Departmental Improvement Award. Their success is largely attributed to the implementation of  Cerner’s Automated Appointment reminder module, powered by ComputerTalk. “Automated practices [are delivering] better efficiencies and outcomes,” said Jim Shave, President of Cerner Canada. “Achieving results that improve the patient experience and boost the quality of health care is what we strive for.” (source: Tim Wilson, Cerner Canada’s message to the market in recognizing hospitals and institutions, http://www.canadianhealthcarenetwork.ca/. Calgary Laboratory Services

Cerner's Automated Appointment(TM) reminder module helped Calgary Laboratory Services serve more clients, without increasing staffing through headcount or overtime pay. The solution saved them a total of 25 hours that would have been spent manually calling each client the day before their scheduled collection. With over 95 percent of calls successfully made, Calgary Laboratory Services has enhanced client relationships.
