Ryan Ramoutar: Exploring New Opportunities

by Ryan Ramoutar | Published On December 19, 2024

Hi, I’m Ryan! I’m thrilled to share a bit about my journey here at ComputerTalk and how my career has evolved over the years. It’s been an exciting ride, filled with opportunities to grow, challenges to overcome, and plenty of amazing people to work with along the way.

Starting As a Technical Support Analyst

My journey at ComputerTalk began during a unique time—right in the midst of the COVID pandemic. Starting as a Technical Support Analyst, I was nervous about joining a team where many colleagues were only accessible through video calls and Teams meetings rather than in person. Despite this, I quickly adapted and found everyone to be welcoming and supportive. During my role on the service desk, I was tasked with handling client incidents, creating tickets, investigating and resolving cases. I provided assistance to customers by delivering clear, effective solutions and maintaining a customer-focused approach, even when addressing complex problems. Leveraging my technical expertise and diagnostic tools, I work methodically to identify the root cause of the problem. If the solution requires collaboration, I coordinate with other teams while keeping the customer informed of the progress. I strive to simplify complex technical concepts, ensuring the customer feels confident and supported throughout the resolution process.

I graduated from Ryerson University with a degree in Business Technology Management, which gave me a solid foundation for my role. The program helped me develop critical skills like problem-solving, effective communication, and project management—all of which I applied to my day-to-day work. It also instilled in me the importance of aligning technology solutions with business objectives, a principle I carry with me to this day. Working in a customer-facing role has also been instrumental in shaping my professional growth. It has taught me the importance of patience, empathy, and active listening when addressing client needs and concerns. These experiences have helped me become more adaptable, confident, and solution-focused, especially when navigating challenging situations.

Moving To The Implementations Team

Over time, I realized that my passion lay in helping clients directly and ensuring they could seamlessly implement and use our solutions. This realization led me to transition into the Customer Support team, where I’ve currently taken on the role of an Implementation Specialist. It’s been an incredibly rewarding step, allowing me to combine my technical expertise with a customer-focused mindset.

Thriving As An Implementation Specialist

As an Implementation Specialist, I’ve had the opportunity to work closely with clients, guiding them through onboarding and ensuring smooth product integrations. I love being able to bridge the gap between technical functionality and client needs, helping them achieve success with our solutions. Every project brings new challenges and opportunities to make a positive impact.

Why I Love ComputerTalk

One of the best parts about working at ComputerTalk is the company’s culture. The team here genuinely values collaboration, innovation, and personal growth. I’ve always felt supported and encouraged to explore new opportunities and bring fresh ideas to the table. It’s exciting to be part of a company that not only embraces change but actively fosters it.

Beyond The Office

Outside of work, I’ve made some amazing friends at ComputerTalk who have become a big part of my life. Whether it’s playing volleyball, going out for lunch, or just hanging out, these connections have made my experience here even more rewarding.

I also love playing basketball, gaming, and traveling. One of the incredible perks of working at ComputerTalk is the ability to balance work and personal life. The company has given me opportunities to travel and work remotely, which has allowed me to explore new places while staying connected to my work responsibilities.

Looking Ahead

I’m excited about what’s next in my journey at ComputerTalk. Each day brings new challenges and opportunities to grow, and I look forward to continuing to contribute to the success of our clients and our team. I’m grateful for the journey so far and can’t wait to see what’s around the corner.

Thanks for reading my story. Here’s to many more milestones ahead!
