ComputerTalk ice Contact Center Announces Support for Microsoft Teams Phone extensibility

by Nicole Robinson | Published On March 17, 2025

Microsoft recently announced Microsoft Teams Phone extensibility at Enterprise Connect. ComputerTalk is excited to work with Microsoft on another early adopter project, continuing our commitment to innovation and seamless integration within the Microsoft ecosystem.

By using Teams Phone extensibility for ComputerTalk’s ice Contact Center we are ensuring that our customers benefit from cutting-edge capabilities that enhance their contact center operations.

Expanding ice Contact Center’s integration with Teams

Currently, ComputerTalk’s Direct Connect solution enables customers to take their Teams phone numbers and direct them into ice Contact Center through Direct Routing, regardless of whether they are Microsoft provided, Direct Routing, or Operator Connect. This solution enables customers to take advantage of their Microsoft telephony within ice Contact Center with some setup required.

With the Teams Phone extensibility for ComputerTalk’s ice Contact Center the connection between Teams telephony and ice Contact Center will remain the same but with a simplified integration process. This makes it easier for businesses to integrate Teams telephony with ice Contact Center.

Teams Phone extensibility will extend the reach of the contact center into the Teams administration experience making it easier for our mutual customers to bring Teams telephony to the ice Contact Center platform. This enhancement removes complexities and provides a more intuitive, seamless connection between Teams and ice Contact Center.

"Working with Microsoft on the Teams Phone extensibility for ice Contact Center is an exciting opportunity for us. We're thrilled to collaborate on a solution that simplifies the integration between Teams and our platform, empowering businesses to seamlessly use their Microsoft telephony within ice Contact Center. This relationship marks an exciting step forward in providing our customers with a more intuitive, efficient, and scalable experience." – Chris Bardon, Chief Software Architect, at ComputerTalk

“We’re pleased to collaborate with ComputerTalk as they bring Teams Phone extensibility to ice Contact Center. This integration simplifies deployment and improves the overall experience for our mutual customers. At Microsoft, we are committed to empowering organizations with seamless and integrated communication solutions. Teams Phone extensibility enhances the connection between Teams and contact centers. " – Albert Kooiman, Senior Director, Microsoft Teams Partner Engineering and Customer Experiences at Microsoft.

ComputerTalk’s strong relationship with Microsoft

ComputerTalk has been a Microsoft partner since 2005. The relationship began when ComputerTalk first added support for Microsoft Live Communication Server (LCS), the predecessor to Office Communication Server (OCS), Lync, Skype for Business, and Teams.

This long-term commitment has cemented the strong relationship between ComputerTalk and Microsoft, including participation in multiple Technology Adoption Programs (TAP), Co-sell, and ComputerTalk was one of the first partners to receive the Microsoft Teams Connected Contact Center Certification. With such a long and celebrated history in their relationship, ComputerTalk continues to strengthen this relationship with Microsoft.
