Christopher Rodgers: From Learning to Leading

by Christopher Rodgers | Published On January 16, 2025

When I first discovered ComputerTalk, I took my time exploring their corporate LinkedIn account and website to get a better sense of not just what the company does, but also how employees felt about working there.

I was delighted to see photos of employees celebrating over potlucks, quarterly events, and Christmas parties. It was clear to me that ComputerTalk took pride in fostering a strong sense of community and family. The modern and sleek design of the office space also stood out to me, and I could genuinely picture myself being part of the team.

Azure DevOps Project

One of the most rewarding projects I’ve worked on so far has been the Azure DevOps initiative. Through tools like PowerAutomate, I’ve been able to streamline processes and automate workflows from the moment a new order is received in MS Dynamics 365 to the second it closes. It’s provided greater efficiency for our teams, visual clarity on project statuses, and insight through rich data analyzed through PowerBi.

Growth and Learning

So far, I’ve not only gained a deep understanding of ice but have also sharpened my knowledge of technical infrastructure and the complexities of providing cloud services to clients.

Additionally, I’ve developed project management skills that I didn’t have before. From building timelines and managing customer expectations to making critical decisions and collaborating closely with internal teams, I’ve learned how to balance these factors to reach our shared goals.

Advice for Newcomers

My advice to anyone seeking a new journey with ComputerTalk would be this: get to know as many people as possible, as soon as possible. Build strong relationships and lean on those connections to ask great questions, grow faster, and become a leader. People notice when you put in a lot of effort and try your best and, as a result, they’ll support you in your growth.

Why ComputerTalk?

ComputerTalk brings the best of both worlds, a company with a strong history and reputable clients while operating with a start-up energy that fosters innovation and flexibility. The perks like the free lunch program and a hybrid work environment contribute to a better work-life balance.

Above all, the trust and independence I’ve been given here at ComputerTalk stands out the most. Having leadership that believes in your ideas and a team that collaborates so openly makes all the difference. I am incredibly grateful for having leaders that were able to see my skills and abilities from the first day we met. Since then, they’ve given me countless opportunities to work on projects I believe in and motivate me every day. I love the work I do because of them.
